HD-PNTU3 MiniStation Plus review:
Excellent little hard drive!
Very compact and lightweight.
Needs no AC cord as it draws power from USB port.
Transfers files effortlessly! (drag & drop)
Can stick drive into pant pocket!
USB micro cable however is too short for some. I don't mind it so much as I stick it beneath my Belkin F8N044-023 Notebook CushTop Stand (Dark Sky/Pitch Black).
Light is nice to tell which mode is transferring (green = USB 2.0 blue = USB 3.0).
Buffalo uses a Seagate Momentus 5400 RPM hard drive (Samsung SpinPoint SATA 5400rpm 8 MB Cache 1 TB 2.5-Inch Hard Drive (M8 HN-M101MBB)).
Just format drive to remove unnecessary pre-installed software (Google Chrome, Picasa, Adobe Reader) and retain full drive space.
Keep in mind that 1 terrabyte equals to 931 gigabytes, so don't panic when you see that amount displayed.
Maximum transfer rate is 5 Gbps (480 Mbps - 2.0 mode).
My colleague purchased a Seagate FreeAgent 500 GB 3.5-Inch USB 2.0 Hard Drive ST305004FDA1E1-RK and is jealous of this one, as that needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet and is quite large.

All I can see is that it does what it says, and it performs it superbly. This hard drive feels solid and durable. The hard drive weighs about the same as a standard mobile hard drive that you would find in a laptop (I'm sure that is what it is). The best feature I can think of is the sheer speed in which data can be transferred. I was able to back up 250 gb of data and a system image in the span of a little over a half hour. I was regularly seeing transfer speeds of up to 240 mbs. All I can say is wow. Good job Buffalo.

i bought this product a year ago and so far it has been great. it is indestructible and i have had it on a deployment. great product.
